Richard E. Corrigan was born in Mobile Alabama and attended college at the University of Virginia, where he received a bachelors degree in 1983. In 1986, Richard obtained a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, Richard served on the Alabama Law Review.
After working as an associate in Memphis and Atlanta, Richard returned to Mobile in 1988 and began a litigation practice with Hamilton, Butler with an emphasis on commercial litigation. For a period of time, that practice included real estate and title insurance claims litigation, commercial litigation and litigation on behalf of premises owners, insurance companies and self-insured entities.
In February 2001, Richard started a solo practice that served a small nucleus of clients in the diverse areas of residential development, municipal finance and healthcare. Richard has consulted with and advised local physicians and attorneys in their professional employment agreements and negotiated both employment and independent contractor agreements for both of these professional specialties.
As a convergence of the business and litigation sides of the Richard’s practice, he has handled quite a few corporate, limited liability company and partnership dissolutions and inter-entity disputes, both amicable and adversarial.
